A rape forum recently in Cleveland revealed some of the problems relating to rape crime. Many women just do not report the crime. For example:
—- A Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter revealed she was raped
23 years ago and is just coming forward.
—- A 40 year old woman, in tears, revealed publicly for the first
time that she had been raped in 1994 when she was a
Peace Core volunteer and is just now seeing a therapist.
There are an estimated 500.000 rapes a year althought the crime figures show just about 1/2 of that. It is said that every
4th woman or 6th man is affected by this crime.
Don’t be a crime statistic. Practice self defense I like the MAP method:
1. Take a martial arts class.
2. Avoid dangerous situations. Don’t take chances.
3. Pack a stun gun .pepper spray or personal alarm
Be prepared. Don’t let these criminals curtail our activities or permanently affect our lifes.
As most sports fans know, defense always wins. I was reminded of that as I watched the Boston Celtics/ Cleveland Cavaliers playoff game. In baseball pitching ( which is considered defense) is key. In football, the defense front line is most important part of stoppping an opponent. The only
sport in which defense is not important is bowling. ( A friend always reminds me of that )
In life, self defense is the key to winning. Don’t let the fear of crime stop you from doing the activities you like. If you jog, bicycle or hike (especially alone}, you need to protect yourself. Carry a pepperspray and small stun gun If you are wary of stun guns, buy a personal alarm with light. They are making these items small and convenient to carry. One neat item is a pepper spray ring. It can be worn and ejects pepper spray safely and accurate. At any rate protect yourself and have piece of mind. Don’t let the criminals dictate our life style.
Should I use runt stun gun or wildfire pepper
spray on Hillary or Obama ? I am a “diehard” democrat but I have issues with both of
them . Hillary has the most skills to run the government. ( But isn’t it going to be creepy to have Bill sneaking around.? ) Obama can give fresh hope to the country but he doesn’t have the experience . You can’t just preach, raise up your arms and open the sky to fix this government.
Maybe for the first time in my life, I will vote for a Republican for president. Nah!
