The stun baton is not only a choice for security guards but others also like it. I really think it is the security you get from knowing you have that reach( 16 or 20 inch models.) The stun baton also has some other nice features:

According to FBI statistics, every 15 seconds a house, apartment or condominium is burglarized. It is usually during the day when homes are more often vacant. One of the best strategies is to make your home appear occupied:
—-Lower the volume of your telephone ringer so it can’t be heard outside
—Refrain from posting notes on your front door
–Forward calls when you are leaving for an extended period
-Have a trusted neighbor pick up your newspapers and mail
-Use automatic timers to turn the lights on at night
-If you’ll be away for more than a week, make plans to have the grass mowed or snow shoveled.
Also you can have one of the many home alarms installed.
Many are inexpensive ( $15-$40) alarms and can be installed in minutes.
I was working in a tax preparation office when I saw our window washer drop his squizee and run out to the strip mall parking lot. He saw a mugger trying to rob an elderly couple and he came to their rescue. He and another man grabbed the mugger and held him down until the police came. The mugger was hollering about his civil rights. ( Can you believe that? ) This was about 2:00 in the afternoon. The mugger tried to grab the elderly lady’s handbag but she wouldn’t let go. He pushed her husband ( who was trying to help) down to the ground. The elderly gentlemen ( both were in their 80’s ) was taken in the ambulance for precautionary reasons.
I praised the men who got involved. I don’t even know if it was a good thing to do. But sometime you just react and don’t think. The window washer said it was like watching someone robbing his parents.
This is one of the safest areas in the Cleveland area but that doesn’t matter any more. This seems to be happening.everywhere. Here is where I usually get on my bandwagon and say you must practice self defense. But I am not sure a Stunmaster Stun Gun or or a pepper spray
would be a good thing for this couple. Maybe a a personal
alarm might help.
Are we at the point when the elderly have to stay in their home behind locked doors? I hope not. If you have elderly parents
or friends, try to help them go shopping etc. This is the only thing I can think of. If you have any ideas please enter them

A rape forum recently in Cleveland revealed some of the problems relating to rape crime. Many women just do not report the crime. For example:
—- A Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter revealed she was raped
23 years ago and is just coming forward.
—- A 40 year old woman, in tears, revealed publicly for the first
time that she had been raped in 1994 when she was a
Peace Core volunteer and is just now seeing a therapist.
There are an estimated 500.000 rapes a year althought the crime figures show just about 1/2 of that. It is said that every
4th woman or 6th man is affected by this crime.
Don’t be a crime statistic. Practice self defense I like the MAP method:
1. Take a martial arts class.
2. Avoid dangerous situations. Don’t take chances.
3. Pack a stun gun .pepper spray or personal alarm
Be prepared. Don’t let these criminals curtail our activities or permanently affect our lifes.
